Inspired by my academic background in chemistry, I’m constantly exploring the intersection of science, design, and art. My work brings these disciplines together in a 21st-century synthesis of creativity and innovation, driven by a desire to push the boundaries of ceramic art. I experiment with glaze chemistry, clay body formulations, and emerging tools like clay 3D printing—using my knowledge of chemistry, material science, and design to create forms and surfaces that are both technically complex and visually unexpected. My work often employs unusual chemical compositions to generate textures and effects that feel otherworldly, evoking alien biology or futuristic materials. Yet, even as I venture into the unfamiliar, I’m equally inspired by the natural world—its structures, patterns, and subtle order—grounding my work in the familiar while reaching into the unknown.
