This ceramic wall sculpture or "glaze painting" was made using a raku / lustre glazing technique that I developed using a technique from glassblowing modified to work with ceramic glazes. This is not a traditional raku process and is able to develop lustre colors that are permanent and will not oxidize with time. My ceramic glazes are one of a kind and unique from other ceramic artists. The unique work is purely a non-functional wall art piece to be displayed only on a wall and comes ready to hang.
This a unique piece which I would be hard pressed to replicate. I continued the fuming process for multiple trials in one firing by reheating the piece in the kiln before the piece receives too much thermal shock. I have attempted to recreate this glaze surface but the pieces have been destroyed in the process because of thermal shock (they crack into pieces!).
